PVZ GW1 is not launching

I recently bought GW1 in order to play through it again for fun, when I bought the game I opened it just for it to boot me back to the launcher without any progress of it opening.

I have tried to find a resolution for this for the past few hours but to no avail. I have tried to:

  • Repair the game
  • Uninstall and re-install the game (twice)
  • Update drivers
  • Running as administrator (both the launcher and game)
  • Uninstall and re-install the launcher
  • Clearing Cache

if anyone has any reccommendations in order for this issue to be resolved, I would much appriciate it.

    This is a known issue with the EA Desktop App rn.  I am also having the same Issue.

    However, if you really want to play there is a workaround, however, it is slightly annoying, and only partially worked for me:

    For people using EA app try this - Create a new admin user for windows and launch EA app (your games and EA App should still be installed depending on which drive you installed them on) - your game should launch and play as normal. Once this is done you can go back to your main account and launch from there. It may ask you to choose a save point (Be it local or cloud save) I *don't* think it matters which BUT I did click local save because people are having issues with one drive. After this the game should launch fine. If it doesn't you may need to contact EA support.
