The surest sign that this thread is a bunch of baloney is the exactly zero response from EA after the first couple of days. They know this service update is a bunch of bs and noone would like it, but they can say "but look we asked for feedback" while doing nothing about it. I haven't seen a single positive post about this update, so why has it not been rolled back?
All of my services are red and acting as if I dont have enough capacity even though I have more than 1000 more than whats needed in each category. All of my roads are connected thoroughly, I have moved the services, upgraded, added, demolished and rebuilt, NOTHING is changing this issue. Every time i message EA about it, I am told basic tutorial crap about connecting roads or to upgrade the service…… I went ahead and started a new territory in another area (green ford) and the same thing is happening there. My city population has plummeted from 160k down to 9k, and most of the city is vacant, all because of this issue. This started around the beginning of December and has not improved.
This is disgusting me because i have actually spent money playing this game because i was enjoying it.. at first.. i even spent money trying to fix this issue, that CLEARLY is something that’s out of my hands to fix.
I cannot claim the 15 greenbacks daily gift since the update. Reporting the issue via 'HELP' ------> Chat with us resulted in my being totally ignored. No reply, no acknowledgement, no 'racing's support.
You ask players not to use offensive language, or resort to name calling, etc. I understand that no one likes reading such messages (I once worked for a local Council on Poll Tax recovery. So I know what you mean (I even got death threats!).
However, when a player appeals to Support for help, and get nothing whatsoever in response, it is easy to become overly frustrated and angry at being ignored. It gives the impression EA just doesn't care for its players. They grab the money the players spend quickly enough, but just seen to care nothing for their players when they need help.
I feel extremely angry that I'm being deprived of the 15 greenbacks every day, but EA seems quite happy that I should continue to lose this simmoney. If they ever get around to fixing the issue (theme to 'Until the 12th of Never' comes to mind), will I receive the 15 greenbacks for each day I could not claim them?
We both know the answer to that. To reimburse me fully would make it seem that EA cards about us, which is patently not the case. I'm at game level 99, have played for many, many years, and spent a small fortune on this game. But that, of course, appears to count for very little.
If you ignore your players when they need help, some, inevitably, will respond with gutter level language.
Is there any chance my issue regarding the daily free gift will receive attention before 2027?
I agree. I’m barely playing simcity anymore. I started playing designer city and while it took some time to understand the game, I’m enjoying the fact that I’m not being bombarded with constant messaging to get me to spend money on the game and I don’t have to deal with cheaters. I played simcity for hours every day but it’s no longer enjoyable. It’s just aggravating and frustrating.
After the Services 2.0 update, Waste Management services are not working correctly. Residential buildings show a red waste icon even though there is enough waste processing capacity and proper coverage.
I’ve been saying all along how stupid this roll out is going to be. The only ppl it won’t affect is the cheaters and hackers as they’ll find a way around it. This is what happens when a game is taken over by AI and greed because as I have said before it’s all to do with money and the more they can get from us and give nothing in return accept stress and heartache as we will need to rebuild our cities and regions now..
So Happy New Year and hope you all have a fantastic one!😇
Exhibit List: Evidence of Systemic Failure and Support Mismanagement
Case: Mayor "USS Midway" (UID: 65876769)
Exhibit A: Contradictory and Factually Incorrect Support Advice
The Claim: Support advisors repeatedly stated that "incomplete road networks or dead ends" were the primary cause of service complaints.
The Reality: My city had maintained 100% happiness and a 7.2M+ population for 10 years with its existing road network prior to the Service 2.0 update.
Clarification on "Road Changes": I did eventually make minor road adjustments, but only to accommodate the different footprints of the new "Gifted" service buildings.
Proof of Error: These adjustments were for spatial layout, not connectivity. The city returned to 100% happiness only after the new capacity was integrated, proving the "disconnected road" script was an irrelevant deflection from the actual capacity bug.
Exhibit B: The Financial Toll of the "Population Trap"
Mechanism: The update triggered a population collapse, which artificially lowered service demand. As I added services to restore happiness, the resulting population spike immediately exceeded the new capacity limits, creating a "vicious cycle" of secondary failures.
Documented Losses:
1.5 Million Neo-Simoleons: Spent on forced, emergency service upgrades to stabilize the city against this cycle. 1 Million Simoleons: Spent on unavoidable road re-routing for building footprints and residential reconstruction.
8,000 SimCash: Specifically spent on a Maxis Manor as the only viable way to stabilize a region without total demolition.
Exhibit C: Sabotage of 4-Week Long-Term Investment
Event: Viking Contest of Mayors (COM) Season.
The Loss: I spent four weeks grinding for the Viking Ship capstone prize.
The "Penalty": Because the Service 2.0 crisis required two weeks of emergency management, I missed the critical window to use seasonal currency for the final upgrade.
Current Cost: Completing this project now requires a permanent 8,500 SimCash expenditure that was not required prior to the update chaos.
Exhibit D: Failure of Escalation and Irrelevant Scripting
The Failure: Despite an explicit request to escalate this ticket to the Chief Experience Officer and a report of 1.5M NS in losses, support responded with a generic marketing script.
The Content: The response informed me that the update was "rewarding" and "coming soon," completely ignoring that I have been on the new system for two weeks and have already suffered a massive city collapse.
Conclusion: The "Gifts" provided were insufficient to cover the 1.5M Neo-Simoleon and 16,500 total SimCash (Manor + Ship) losses. I am requesting a manual review of my account ledger for full reimbursement of these documented expenditures.
