This Game is a Bloated Leech

This month the game's performance has tanked harder than a snail that ate its own shell. The amount of bloat in this piece of **bleep** has made the game LITERALLY FREEZE EVERY SECOND. WHY does there need to be fifteen **bleep**ing popups every morning?! Nobody's going to buy a bunch of polygons they don't have the room for!

The performance is so bad they just might though. The freezing inhibits scrolling, and since they put the land expansion items way at the end of the list IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO GET TO THEM WITHOUT THE GAME MISINTERPRETING A SWIPE AS A TAP AND BUYING SOME USELESS BULL**bleep** YOU DIDN'T WANT, AND THERE IS NO WAY TO CANCEL THE PURCHASE. IMAGINE SOMEONE ACTUALLY SPENT REAL MONEY ON THIS DATA BROKING PIECE OF **bleep**—THEIR MONEY WOULD BE WASTED ON SOME BULL**bleep** THEY DIDN'T CONSENT TO BUY!!!!!

That's not even the entirety of the game's problems. Here's a short list of them:

• There are far too many currencies and they cannot be exchanged. Let's count some of them: 1. Simoleons: only allowed to be spent on some items, so you end up with millions of them you can't use. Cannot be exchanged for other currencies. 2. Sim cash: far too much of it is required because it pays for virtually everything else in the game but you never have enough of it unless you buy it with real money. It's also ridiculously easy to accidentally waste it on speeding up some process you have the patience for, just enough of it to prohibit you from buying something you actually need. 3. Neo simoleons: every item you can buy with this gets exponentially more expensive every time you buy one, which is just brilliant because Ωcorp buildings have a fit if Skynet or digital ID go down. You also have a limited capacity you have to upgrade like the storage buildings, which relates to the next problem, but first, more currencies. 4. Regional simoleons: like neo simoleons, everything you get with them is ridiculously expensive, but in this case they're ridiculously expensive from the get-go, which is a massive **bleep**ing **bleep**-take when your regional inhabitants abandon their houses without the region's range-based extra requirements. They should just use REGULAR SIMOLEONS, but because EA doesn't want people to play their games this adds FIVE MORE CURRENCIES, which CANNOT BE EXCHANGED. These buildings should use REGULAR SIMOLEONS!!! 5. Train simoleons: the acquisition of these things is INFURIATINGLY slow, and you're always wasting them on train parts for the cargo ship, or people's houses in regions where THERE ARE NO TRAINS. The game will ask you for train parts as soon as you unlock train things, even if you have no room for railroad tracks or train stations. Not only that, but yet again there's a limited capacity and you have to upgrade your pissing wallet which, as I have mentioned, is IMPOSSIBLE TO DO when everything that has nothing to do with trains keeps leeching your segmented train money and EVERY TRAIN ITEM GETS MORE EXPENSIVE EVERY TIME YOU BUY ONE. 6. Event tokens: These appear above your houses. Last time it was pretzels, and this time it's pumpkins. These tokens are exchanged for the next currency, but can also be used to buy the same items you can get with those, but much more expensive—That is, unless THE MENU DECIDES THAT YOU TAPPED AN OBSCENELY EXPENSIVE ITEM YOU DON'T WANT WHEN YOU WERE TRYING TO SCROLL THE **bleep**ING MENU!!! Oh, and if you don't have the space for the right buildings, YOU'RE NOT GETTING ANY, and if your city even gets to the FOURTH COLUMN of expansion areas, you'll need these **bleep**ing things to pay for the bulldozer parts! 7. Event simoleons: Exchange the pumpkins for these so you can buy decorative bull**bleep** you don't have space for and have to PAY TO UPGRADE, or buy bombs to destroy your own city because you won't be able to afford bulldozer parts. For Halloween there are TWO OF THESE, and the conversion can only happen HOURS APART. EA gives us a currency conversion and GIVES THEM BOTH TIME LIMITS. The main problem is these are also limited by the limits imposed on the tokens you exchange for them. No, wait. It's not. It's the busted menus that LAG SO MUCH THEY THINK YOU BOUGHT SOMETHING USELESS WHEN YOU WERE TRYING TO SCROLL!!!! 8. War simoleons?! Enough already!! Who even does this!? Wars are just pointless destruction that add MORE clutter to your inventory and wastes your time reconstructing buildings you've already built, which is the same for the Vu tower, doing that on your own **bleep**ing city.

• The game is deliberately designed to keep needed items away from the players. For example, Neo bank upgrades, storage upgrades, and BULLDOZER PARTS. It was always ridiculously unlikely to acquire just one of them, and now they're supposedly "easier" to get THE GAME RUNS SO POORLY, WHICHEVER OF THE TEN CURRENCIES YOU'RE TRYING TO USE WILL BE WASTED ON SOMETHING YOU DIDN'T CONSENT TO BUY.

• There is no way to dispose of train items or Ω items you don't want or need, and the game will constantly give you the Ω items it isn't asking for while the green container for example will cease to exist for as long as it's needed to upgrade the storage or the Neo bank. The only way to get rid of train items is for the cargo ship or a house to ask for them, and the only way to get rid of Ω items you don't need is for an Ω house to have one of those speech bubbles asking for it, WHICH ONLY TAKE FROM YOU WHAT YOU HAVE THE MOST OF BECAUSE YOU NEED THEM THE MOST. It's **bleep**ing bull**bleep**.

• These popups can **bleep** off and die in the bin. Nobody's paying for seasonal attractions because we don't have space for any of them as per the game's design. These daily login bonuses can get **bleep**ed too. If you need to give these currencies out just to get people to use them, IT MEANS THERE ARE TOO MANY CURRENCIES AND EVERYTHING'S TOO EXPENSIVE. THIS IS RESET WHORING INCARNATE. I CAN SEE SCHWAB'S **bleep** IN YOUR MOUTHS.

• The navigation in the game's current state is an impossible nightmare. Events, shops, that plumbbob bull**bleep** OF WHICH THERE ARE TWO TYPES; there are so many unrelated menus you have to jump between to get anything done, and the options you actually want are hidden all the way to the right behind adverts trying to trick you into spending "REAL" MONEY on this U-bend of game design, so it can lag and WASTE ONE OF ITS FIFTEEN CURRENCIES ON SOMETHING THE PLAYER DIDN'T CONSENT TO BUYING!!!!

All this bull**bleep** prevents the player from making progress unless they cough up some electrons, and it's predatory bull**bleep** of the highest degree. Therefore, I am deleting the app. Get **bleep**ed.

  • Yeah, it wouldn't hurt if they just removed like half the game's content at this point. Besides too many currencies, there are also too many different shops and items to produce (and tasks related to them).

A bit over a year ago or so, shops like the Bureau of Restoration weren't permanent. I didn't miss them at all and would gladly see them gone. Cause most of the stuff we have to produce in these newly permanent shops are a complete waste of resources, while we do have to use tons of valuable things to produce them. I'm constantly using up all my paint cans  (for example) to make stained glass and tapestries, even though the latter aren't really needed for anything. And they still haven't fixed the absurd prices for some of them (Football shoes for example are still sold at a loss even at maximum prices). Skip these assignments, and they'll just come back before you've even seen some of the older ones (like making those actually useful paint cans).

It's just another example of them mindlessly adding more stuff, without asking themselves the question of how it's going to improve the game. Just more things getting added to let the game expand outwards (more items, more currencies, more of everything) with very little integration into other, existing parts of the game. With each new release, it's unravelling into a very loose set of currencies and items that have very little to do with each other. Heck, they don't even seem to have noticed that some of the currency boosts (the ones that are hopefully working anyway) are supposedly active for longer than their respective events will last (like the MP doubler that's unlocked at level 40).

The game was much better when it was simpler - and apparently easier to understand for the Devs themselves too - and when the most complicated task was making some glue, paint or, very rarily, some melons. Now most assignments require you to make two other semi-finished products and combine that with insane amounts of raw materials. Most assignments are basically three or four old assignments combined these days.

Remove or at the very least limit the seasonal currencies, turn the regional ones into a single one for example and make some of those shops limited-time things again instead of permanent features. Remove the tasks related to the shops. It's fine if they want to add new optional things, but don't force it onto players. Cause it's making the game unplayable, even the good parts like the Design Contest. Sometimes less is more.

Wow that is a serious rant and one i completely agree with. Bravo

  • I've been wanting to complain about all the popups for offers, daily login calendar reminders, and whatever else specifically for the past week. But I've complained about a lot lately so I didn't. Thanking you for saying something.
