Feature wishlist
Been absolutely having a blast with this game, and admittadly have clocked more than 40 hours already since public open access.
I've also just been a huge fan of the franchise overall! Bought a 360 last year JUST to play skate 3 lol. With that cleared i just wanted to publicly list some of the features i would love to see the game get with time.
1. More wear and tear. I think this would actually double very well with gradual season progression. I have to assume by some method EA can see which spots are the most popular or most skated. Maybe not necessarily actual skate parks. But i Would love to see season to season, more graffiti, maybe scuff marks, maybe chips and tears (not ones that impact actual skating) as a way to memorialize just how popular certain areas are, and show how well loved they are!
2. Some more indoor parks! which i think would be a big bonus for number 3
3. weather??? I'd dream of some day night cycle, and potentially weather - i know personally developing wise, these are some bigger tasks. I just think the proposition of having a drizzle when you want to go for a line to clip, so you feel more incentivized to do an indoor line is a very REAL concept and very fun one to spice in. Maybe even make it a cam option for replay cam? day night that is/weather idk. could be the move!
4. As a skate 3 junkie like i mentioned, something i really do miss is death race. which also kinda leads into a grander "complaint" i kinda wish there were more designated spots to Bomb. not only a skate 3 junkie, im also a thrill enjoyer, that LOVES taking my longboard to some massive hills and streets. Would absolutely LOVE to see some locations akin to that of spillway :)
5. I assume eventually we will see comp, but i would personally also like something that has a competitive aspect without being tied to multiplayer spot battles. Something like even just challenge lines having a leaderboard for both world AND most importantly friends list leaderboards. Im thinking something like i queue up to play Window shopping and on there i can see "oh hey, someone did this challenge and managed a 3k line, maybe i can top that" or "ooo, my buddy so-and-so, beat me previous record of 1k or x-number-of-attempts, TIME TO TAKE IT BACK"
It would just add a really fun friendly competition on challenges without requiring multiple ppl to be on at the same time :)
6. Along with the updates and fixes to the replay system, i think having an easy IN GAME way to share clips you chop up to friend, and maybe a small like in game psuedo-social media platform for sharing clips, upvoting clips and so on would be absolutely SICK. it would feel just like when i was younger with my boys sharing lines we hit with eachother on myspace LMAO. as it stands now generally you have to do this more roundabout via twitter, YT, or streaming it to your buddies on discord. And i def understand that - in it of itself, is more publicity for the game - so a marketing standpoint i get incentivizing that - but still imo it would be cool for those already in the sphere of the game to have an easy, in the moment way to share a clip to a buddy.
7. Finally even tho PERSONALLY im a major street skating head. Just grew up on it, and generally most of my parks growing up were flat ground. I still gotta show some more love to the vert in the game, I think there should be some more Vert challenges. I find it a little interesting you guys made such good improvement from skate 3 in terms of mechanics for vert, but didnt teach them along the way. Took me embaressingly a little while to even get pumping down pat in skate.
So i think having more missions akin to that of the main campaign tailored for Vert - give slappy some love!
Eitherway these arent any deal breakers for me - obviously im plugging away hours, and sharing clips every day - but these are just some Minor and Major tweaks i'd love to see.
