General complaints/requests
This game has been a severe disappointment. From the movement to landing tricks. Trying to maintain speed is nearly impossible, landing tricks from height, even initiating hops or grinds is a task and don’t even get me started on the limited landing thresholds overall. It seems like the transition mechanics have a lot to do with the problem as well, such as pumping. That’s really stupid, not one Skate game I’ve ever played has needed a “vert pump assist”, and why in the hell would you diminish speed or trick ability if you don’t “time it right”? Was the mechanic designed by a 3 year old? Have you people never actually played the games?
I should not have to overhaul the settings, I should not have to go in and tweak settings in order to get into maybe 10 minutes of half-assed horizontal/vertical transition dynamic controls before I get frustrated and close the game, and I absolutely should not need an assist to be able to jump a half pipe or carve a bowl or 360 tunnels or anything else. TAKE PUMPING OUT OF THE GAME and I guarantee you we will have a much better playing experience.. It’s nearly unplayable, you’re lucky if you can string a line together before that ridiculous vert pump mechanic obliterates your speed. If it’s absolutely necessary, then make it automated, otherwise take it the hell out, it’s a nuisance trying to prepare a flip or grab while having to use both sticks at the same time. One stick for rotation and one stick for flicks is all you need, it shouldn’t take 3 different steps in order to make speed, do a trick, and land with enough speed to keep your line.
This game needs to seriously be reworked. You guys nuked it. You literally could’ve transferred the movement/trick controls from skate 3 and it would’ve been 10x more enjoyable and entertaining. 3 months of trying to get into this game and I’m losing hope, fast. I’m not sure what the thought process was, or if you people even played it before you decided to release it to the public, but it sucks. It just sucks. No, I do not want to fly from skyscrapers 84 times before landing a trick once, no I should not need to invoke rocket science in order to roll up a ramp with enough speed to do something cool either. Give us bigger skate parks, give us better mechanics, give us a better game. Because this.. this is trash. It’s a deplorable disgrace and should be cast into the lake of fire. Fix it.
