I'm having a problem that i had throughout the playtest (have never booted the game successfully) and now with the new version installed. When I try to boot the game it gets through the anti-cheat but then locks up as the game tries to load. The screen that appears is shown below, the whole process is in the video (sorry for the poor camerawork). I am running win11 pro (updated) and an AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D processor and RTX5080. Is there anything i can try or any other details i can provide to help with troubleshooting?(old post here - playtest won't boot past anti-cheat, grey screen blue vertical rectangles | EA Forums - 12501296 )(will add video shortly)

I answered on your original post but I'll take the chance and write it here as well. I seem to have the same issue but without the blue stripes.I have a 5070 and 5700x3d, 32gb. My screen turns black at first, after that it turns grey and stays there until I force my pc to shut down. I've been unable to play at first before the update, have reinstalled everything and deleted the games files in the AppDate folder and it worked until the new version released. Now this "fix" doesn't seem to work for me anymore.

thanks Mvrc13 and Shillard - hopefully that this is happening for more than just 1 person means we might see a solution sooner or later. Killing me not being able to play...

Hey I'm a little late but I wanted to leave my reply. I've noticed from these comments and my own experience something about being tabbed into the game while it's booting on Steam crashes 50 series GPU drivers. Not sure why but that's my observation, I got an error one time from one of my crashes (same scenario as everyone here except I noticed my aspect ratio changes for a split second and then my screen turns green cause I think that screen is the motherboard trying to take over graphics control but not having the proper software to do so.) that said something about a string failing, but then Skate closed before I could read the full error. Anyway, a work around I've found is if you alt + tab out of the game, and wait for it to fully boot, when you tab back into the game it won't crash. Not sure how this can pass QA, seems very common, and I can replicate it every single time if I'm tabbed into the game. But that fix works every time for me.

OK - not sure if this helps diagnose original problem but i went to make a video of the issue described in this post and now when i try to boot the game i get a "critical low memory error" and the game doesn't get to the point where the grey screen was previously appearing. I have 32gb of ram. I've tried rebooting and deleting and reinstalling the game.
So i guess i need to solve that problem before tackling the original problem....

Same thing happening to me on r9 9950x3D & 5090. Just downloaded the game and went to launch it and I get this same screen and I have to force shut down my computer. Was really hoping to play since I used to play skate 3. What a waste of 40 minutes. I guess it is early access overall but im uninstalling for a while until my friend wants to play it because its unplayable

This is also happening to me. 9950X3D, RTX 5090. Gray screen w/ blue lines. PC gets locked up until I force reboot it. Have tried on current GPU drivers (581.29) and rolled back drivers (577.00). From what I'm seeing here, it seems like it may be an AMD-specific issue.

I did play the BF6 beta with no problems, so I don't think the issue is with the javelin anticheat.

FIX - so actually the game did the same thing to me, and what i did was that i just tried to download it on ea launcher AND IT WORKED.
just use ea i think

i do not consider that to be an acceptable fix. if it's a bug with certain hardware configs + steam, they need to actually fix it.
