I keep getting the MSVCP120.dll and MSVCR120.dll missing errors. I previously accessed the game through Epic but have deleted it there to continue attempting to play through Steam. Neither worked ...

Finally fixed it myself:
uninstalled ALL microsoft C++ redistributables listed in "add or remove programs" through windows.
used this to redownload all
Latest Visual C++ Redistributable Runtimes All-in-One Dec 2025 Download | TechPowerUp
works now.
