EA is likely not doing anything, since they abandoned the game. Awareness of the issue needs to be raised with anyone and everyone to get EA's attention.

I have several tickets open stating that EA is investigating. The forums here are getting more traction and even social media like Reddit is helping out too. Let’s hope something is coming from EA!
How old are the tickets? If EA doesnt do anything it is equal to killing the game. As a customer, this is not what I expect from such a company as EA. So many people love this game.
I just made the tickets, 2-3 days ago. I have spoken to them more than 4 times and are very aware of the problem. I am prepared to continue to start conversations with them until this is fixed. A fix must come and I will do my best!
I just raised one ticket to, I'll report if I get any response.
Honestly this is not what I expected as a customer. I wont trust this company in the future, fairly I feel liable for compensation. Fairly anyone triying to play this game now are.
Please contact IGN as well. Last time with 1HP hack they did published an article and eventually the hack was patched by EA.
I went through the server list just to test if it's localized to a particular location but every server has been compromised which means this hack is global and they have subverted the entire cluster.. Not a low level hack at all making it hard to believe that EA is not responding to it....The question is why? sure the game has been abandoned from a development perspective but they are still selling this game and therefore have a responsibility to ensure that the game is playable not to mention what does this say about EA's security. One can only assume EA is either behind it or just allowing it to happen to kill the game altogether.
I'd hate to believe EA is allowing it to happen, time will tell
if EA is still selling the game, they should be obligated to fix it.
What EA replied was that they take everything seriously but:
"Due to our Privacy Policy, we will be unable to disclose any information regarding this investigation or any actions taken as a result."
This seems shady at least.
