Daily crafting parts sometimes disappearing

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? 1) Open game 2) Log in to main menu 3) Navigate to crate opening screen 4) Note pre-crate crafting part total (x) 5) Open daily crate 6) Note post-crate crafting part total (should be x+5) as daily crate typically awards 5 crafting parts 7) Back out of crate opening screen to main menu 8) Note post-crate crafting part total to see if reverted to "x" or if it still is "x+5" If bug is not noticed, repeat steps above opening daily crate.
What happens when the bug occurs? I open my daily crate, note that 5 crafting parts get added to my total, and then sometimes when I back out of the crate opening menu to the main game menu, the 5 crafting parts I just were awarded are subsequently deducted or disappear from my total and am back to the amount I started with. It is not merely a visual glitch either -- when this happens, I have tried restarting the game back up (quitting out entirely, etc.) and my total still reflects the inappropriate deduction.

For the past week now, I have noticed a bug similar to one in beta involving crafting part rewards from crates where the crafting parts are initially awarded, but then deducted from my total.

For example, several days this week have played out as follows:

Login to the game main menu, note my current credit and crafting part totals... let's say I have 500 crafting parts to start with. Go to the crate opening menu seeing my daily crate is ready.

Open daily crate, usually awarded something like 125 credits and 5 crafting parts. Upon opening the crafting parts, I note my total is now 505.

Back out of the crate opening screen to return to the main menu. As soon as I navigate away from the crate screen, my crafting part total reverts back to 500 -- the 5 crafting parts I just were awarded are gone.

This has happened on at least half or more of the days this week when opening a daily crate. It is not simply a visual glitch either... I have tried quitting out and restarting the game cleanly, logging out and back in, and entering a game and leaving it -- the lost crafting parts are never returned.

I have not yet noticed this happen upon opening other types of crates -- albeit I have not opened too many crates other than the daily crate to know for sure if it's limited to daily ones or not.

Anyone else noticed this?

Yep, the same thing has happened to me every day over the past few weeks and I kept thinking I was imagining it until today! I always just assumed the game wasn't going to cheat you! Unfortunately I've just realized that it's been cheating me every day for the past few weeks out of both crafting parts and credits! I guess EA is upset about the "pay to win" debacle and now it's just trying to cheat its customers in a different way?

I have a similar problem where if I am opening a crate and I push circle at least twice on reveal all and then it opens but disappears before I can see the content and it doesnt add to my credits or crafting parts or crystals. Also I check my collection and no new stuff. It sucks as it still counts as opening even though it doesnt open and give me rewards.

Hi, it looks like the missing crafting parts issue is actually a display problem. The system accidentally adds the parts to your balance twice, then corrects the balance shortly thereafter, leading to this confusion.

@tvDarth_Dunedain From what I can see you appear to be getting the content. Can you try restarting your system then check if the pack openings proceed properly? Be sure to check your balances before opening a pack, that should be illustrative.

I can see pack contents being opened and added today and Tuesday, but not yesterday. Does that match the daily crates you opened?

I don't believe this is simply a visual bug. I recorded a video of it happening a couple of days ago as follows:

You can see how I start out with 920 crafting parts. I get awarded 15 --> 935. Then it goes back to 920 and remained that way despite relogging, restarting the game, or playing a match.
There is a legitimate problem with this not just a visual glitch.

@Novaprospekt518 Hey, when the glitch happens the "ghost" parts are added when you look at the first card or when the crate is initially purchased.

However If you have a clip of this happening and you can show it from before you buy or open the pack, please post it

There were no "ghost" parts added. I recorded that as a 30 second clip on my Xbox One which unfortunately didn't catch the actual crate opening, but trust me when I tell you it was 920 when I first logged in that day. I have been paying very close attention every time I go to open crates since noticing this problem and I recorded that clip after no one on EA chat support believed me and actually was implied to be lying when I asked for a reimbursement.
A possible work-around I've found so far is opening all cards at once from a crate ("B" button on Xbox) instead of individually revealing the cards as I showed in the video. But key word "possible" because I haven't noticed the bug in the last 3 Daily crates I opened since attempting that which is so far my longest streak.

I know it says opened but it doesn't give me the rewards. It glitches and quits before I get anything. I don't get any credits, crystals, or crafting parts.I have checked the collection and I get nothing. I have looked at the collection part and nothing new. It only happens when I hit circle (ps4) at leastt twice while opening crates (once to reveal all and once right after for it load faster but it exits when I do that) because sometimes I will be in a hurry and want it to reveal itself faster but it quits because technically ○ switches to a back button after you hit it once. Btw, you should have the reveal (x) and reveal all (○) be different from back button (also ○). Try □ or something for reveal all. Get back to me. Also I always check my balance before opening packs.

Also i did restart the system and it is still the same as before i opened the crates but counts me as opened it still with no rewards added like I said before.
