Deleting that Folder in Users was the ticket! for now. I've been able to play a solid hour! that is 12 times longer than the entire time i've been trying to play.
Steps taken.
Full reinstall
Delete Star Wars BF2 folder under users documents
Repair game.
Launch game, it launched in windowed mode. w/ audio loud as *. I turned volume back to decent levels and after a round of gamplay went fullscreen. I have not tried windowed borderless yet as I think that could be the prob maybe? Im not gonna push it Im playing and having fun!

So far so good am now playing in borderless and no crash yet. Idk wtf was wrong with that folder but deleting it and repairing after a clean install was the trick. I'll update if the problem persists and if the fix works again.
@Glam_Foe_Hammer finally ^_^ I am happy for you 🙂 My internet ended up going out, they are doing repairs before "winter is coming" :P So today I will actually get to play the game 🙂
Congrats!!!!
Oh, and I totally agree with you about the game shouldn't have some of the issues it does/did, but since it's star wars I am trying to have hope 🙂

Alright the freeze crash returned when I went Borderless, went back to fullscreen no issue for several hours. The problem for me seems to be borderless mode.
When you say "repair game" how do you do that? I'm in the middle of reinstalling after uninstalling and deleting the user subfolder. I even uninstalled my video drivers and reinstalled them before reinstalling BF2.
There is a cog/gear icon in origin - on the game screen (after you click it, from your game library), that will have options, repair, update, settings and others.

I'll give it a go in about an hour when i'm done downloading.

Update:
No success. I get a little farther, but still crash regularly. I start the campaign and can fly around a bit in the first room, but always crash before i can leave.
I also just put up my big pc fixes list :P

Was just about to post this, yeah I did the same thing last night, and it seems solid now, though have only played a few rounds since the fix, so can't call it conclusive, but yeah, deleting the SW:BF2 files from Documents and restarting the game seems to have fixed my problems. I also got rid of the Alpha and Beta folders too in case they might be causing some conflict.
Right, time to get on tonight and make sure the fix has held.

The fix never holds for me, it does however allow for hours of game time. then I have to remove the user folder for bf2. Playing in borderless seems to make it happen faster.
Okay, as an update on where I was previously, I'm still suffering from crashes, though it is improved on where it was at before. The crashes are much less frequent, now I can get a few games in before crash or a lock up. Getting rid of the Beta files from documents, and even the current SW:BF2 files from there definitely helped clean things up, but it seems only part of the solution. One consistent crash I seem to be getting is when I select an Enforcer unit, that seems to always give me a CTD which is massively annoying. Haven't attempted to play singleplayer since the semi-fix so can't comment on that end as yet.
Anyone else still having problems? And does anyone have a more complete fix that sorts out these issues?
Okay after not being so bad for a night or two after getting rid of the Beta files etc, tonight we were back to square one again. I had one, maybe two rounds that didn't end in a crash. In one instance I managed to fire the game up again and get back into the same round only for me to crash again! This is getting ridiculous. I have also tried the additional fixes to no avail. Nothing seems to be putting a dent in it this time and the crashes were just coming thick and fast tonight. Other than Starfighter Assault the game has been near unplayable, and that is after the Beta and other early previews ran smooth as silk on my rig, so the problem is not at my end. And with paying extra for early access? Well I hardly benefited at all from it, as the game was unplayable. I think EA has got to think about providing at least partial compensatory refunds to people who's games clearly aren't working as it appears clear that currently the game is not fit for purpose, which is a shame, as when it works it is a great game, it just hardly ever works, and they also need to sort out Matchmaking, that current system seriously blows.
SO THIS WORKED
Seem to have a pretty solid solution to my issues. It appears that Borderless Windowed mode fixed most of my issues. Could then play for the rest of the night on multiplayer ground maps without issue, not one crash for a solid 5 or 6 maps played both ways. So that is pretty good result. Many thanks to my friend who suggested this solution. Also tried the Singleplayer campaign, and this no longer resulted in a crash on entering a sequence when you play as the droid, which was another superb result. I finally got a crash on the earlier part of the Endor chapter of the Singleplayer, but after a night of playing almost bug free I'll put that down to the law of averages. The night was not without issue, early on for example it took so long to find a populated server, we were constantly joining an empty server, Matchmaking needs a serious overhaul, and there is still the issue of the massive discrepancy between buffed and unbuffed weapons and abilities. If one team is all buffed up to the max and the other is not? It just results in a whitewash every time, which is no fun for anybody.
So much happier, rather be complaining about Loot Crate issues and Matchmaking system problems than constant CTDs, but EA/DICE still need to sort this stuff out.
Hi,
Changed Borderless Windowed mode as TALON1138 suggested and it seams to help. Whole user interface works way more smoothly and I dont get those screen freeze/screen flashing stuff anymore when entering or exiting from match back to main menu.So far I have played battle scenario trainings and no crashing.
Attached log shows that game still takes all the memory and gives those CPU load peaks when new macth or when main menu is loaded after victory, but game doesn´t crash to those situations anymore as max CPU load peaks are "anymore" like 80% as they use to be ~100% in fullscreen mode.
Next I will try to continue playing in singleplayer campaing and let see what happens.
What I'm finding most annoying is that after every time I supposedly get this fixed and get a smooth night's gaming as a result, the next time I play everything is broken again. What gives? Borderless worked for me, now it doesn't and I'm crashing just as much as ever again. This is ridiculous, the game's been out for a month now (for those who had early access), and yet still they haven't got things sorted, very bad show EA/DICE. They really need to get ahead of these problems.
So on installing new patch and Nvidia drivers? Kashyyyk worked fine, though I have been able to play this before, when it came to Death Star II What a surprise, a freeze and crash almost immediately. It seems to be the maps Death Star II, Yavin VI and Tatooine that are the real problem maps, as when my game is running relatively okay (not crashing every five minutes as usual), it'll be these maps that still cause a crash, have yet to complete a full round on any of them.
This is going beyond a joke now. Very close to just hitting the refund button and calling it a day. This has been the worst debacle of a game release. Even worse than when the last Battlefront came out with all its teething problems. Come on DICE, you can do better than this.
Unbelievable! It now appears that the latest patch has actually made things worse. I was crashing left right and center on the ground maps, but I could at least take solace in the fact that the starfighter portion of the game was fairly stable for me, so I could at least play that until they fix everything else. Now with this latest patch it appears that starfighter assault has been totally borked for me as well now as I have been regularly getting the freeze and then CTD with this mode now. So rather than fixing anything they've actually managed to take a step backwards!
What a bleedin' farce. If a hardcore Battlefront fan like me is thinking of quitting the game due to these ridiculous issues, more casual gamers must be leaving in their droves (if they're suffering the same issues I am), way to shoot yourself in the foot before you're out of the starting gate EA/DICE.
Okay, weirdly it seems the starfighter assault crashing was a result of my attempting to downgrade my graphics options to see if that made my game more stable. Bizarre, and on reinstating the higher automatic settings it seems to be fixed, so yeay, I have Starfigther Assault working again. Still getting crashes on all ground maps, even Theed which generally doesn't crash for me. Oh well, maybe one day I'll be able to play all of this game, but I'm not gonna hold my breath.
I tried borderless, and had about 10 minutes of glactic assauly working before crash.
Now its crashing after just a few seconds in the main menu.
Graphics settings are on auto.
Any suggestions?

Wait for EA

I had exactly the same issue as described here. Tried all the listed solutions, nothing worked. After calling with EA support, I turned off MSI Afterburner (just reset it to default) and the crashing stopped entirely.
Hope it helps someone here

same here. I play on Xbox One and the Game Crash after startig a round of Galactic Assault or Strike. I can't finish a game.
Hi,
I have now played all different game modes for past few days without issues (game crashed only once in last ~6 hours of playing).
I´m still playing in borderless mode and I have to keep graphic settings low, raising those to medium causes crashes again..
Played Strike for roughly the first time since release, and that worked quite well (even Tatooine worked without a crash, shock horror!) until I reached Jakku, then it all went to pot again. It is like the game freaks out when I play a map I've not played before, has a fit and CTDs.
Will have to try all the graphics at low settings and see what results I get. Shouldn't have to do this as my rig played the Beta fine with everything set to high, but anything for a quiet crash free life, eh?
