I fixed my cutscene problem by turning shadowmapping all the way down but there's still a ton of issues with NPCs and nothing from BW
Hello everyone,
While this does appear to be affecting many of you and is potentially unrelated to your specific setup, we will still need to gather some data to assist the studio in looking into this further:
- Your DxDiag
- Your current graphic settings, available in your client_settins.ini file, by default located here: %localappdata%\swtor\swtor\settings

if you delete the following line out of your client_settings file is there any change ?
AmbientNPCCount = 32
Edit - I have this as well but the draw distance about half again further then what is shown in the video

AmbientNPCCount = 32
Removing this helps on the npc popin. Did really not see any fps drops on this after removing it.
But items like computer screens are still poping in like mad

So here's my DxDiag and my graphic settigs.
I have a feeling that my laptop (video card?) is no longer enough for the game which is weird, because previously it could run the game pretty smoothly. Hope I don't need to buy new computer to enjoy Kotfe =\

@KoshSan Hi,
Looking at your DxDiag, I noticed that you have both a NVIDIA GeForce GT 635M card and a Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000 chip in your system. It appear as if the Intel one is being used as default. Can you check in your Windows & GPU settings whether the NVIDIA one is correctly configured to be used when you start Star Wars: The Old Republic?
Let us know how you get on.
Cheers,
Nils

Thanks for the tip! My computer used NVIDIA for swtor but I "reapplied" it one more time.
The gameplay became more tolerable but now suffers overall fps (along with less but still stuttering NPCs) even on the lowest settings. I played KOTFE on early access yesterday and noticed some lags and fps drop especially during [Heroic 2+ flashpoints] and some cutscenes. I wonder what settings would be optimal for my computer or is it too old for the stuff?

KotFE is out there but the isuue still stands: NPCs acting like **** causing headaches. No news on why some people are not able to play the game they paid for?
