Is this intended? I'm currently on a preferred account, and the pink/magenta crystals I unlocked in collections are no longer authorized because I don't have artifact equipment authorization. Prior to 4.0, it was perfectly fine for Preferred players to use Cartel Market color crystals.

I have a similar problem in that implants and earpieces that my PC is wearing are no longer effective and now require Artifact Equipment Authorization to use properly, even though it was not necessary to have the authorisation for commendations gear. To add to that I was a subscriber when I purchased gear for my PC and thus everything should be usable through the previous subscription.I also noticed that the implants and earpieces sold by the Ziost commendations vendor now require Artifact Equipment Authorization to buy and equip. I am unaware as to whether this is a bug or intended. If its intended then informing the player base to changes in the vendors wares would be appreciated. I also hope it is not intended as this threatens to lock preferred and F"P players out of high level/endgame content.Thanks.

Just get rid of Artifact Authorization from the game. It causes more harm than brings money. New players get an impression that this is pay2win feature.Also buying Artifact Authorization is a total waste of cartel coins since all purple gear after level 53 doesn't require it. Having it for levels 1-50 is just plain stupid since you easily outlevel your gear and content is so dumbed down that a player is fine in greens.

Well this would be less of an issue if preferred players had SOME way to contact Bioware. We get no message board, no tech support, no in-game tickets, they've even closed the off-topic board on the Bioware forum, and they don't even let us report bugs! It's like we don't even exist! And on the extremely rare occasion that someone on the official forum speaks for us, they're quickly dismissed and ridiculed by elitist subs.

I'm having the same issue, and expect anyone who isn't a sub and doesn't have artifact auth has it too. These crystals were never artifact equipment before, even if they did have a purple border. If they were, I wouldn't have spent my cc to unlock them in collections and wouldn't feel like I'd been cheated now. Now, the only toons I have that can use them are the ones with artifact auth. Since I unlocked these a *long* time ago, every single one of my toons (at least 8 per server) with the exception of the 3 (total) that have artifact auth are pretty much borked.I'm not sure what "investigating" needs to be done. These crystals did not require artifact auth before the patch and now they do. That goes for all of the +41 stat level 10 crystals.

It's not just color crystals. I bought the Vindicator's Light Saber a few months ago and have been using it... until today. Now it's suddenly saying it requires authorization too! So I paid for an item and can no longer use it, unless I pay more money? Not cool EA/Bioware!

Just a quick update . . . it looks like the green barrels/hilts from the fleet modification vendors also require Artifact Authorization. This is looking more and more like a pervasive bug.

Thanks for the posts, we've gotten a few reports of items requiring authorizations since the patch. We'll update when we have any new info on it.

@b_took Yeah it looks like I got some crossed wires, resetting seems to have no effect.

If anyone else encounters this if they could post the item, its quality (green, blue, orange and so on) and its acquisition location (cartel market/fleet vendor/etc) that should help.

Also I'm assuming folks encountering this are currently Preferred status, is that the case?

Two items that I can no longer use due to lack of Artifact Equipment Authorization: Advanced Green Core Hawkeye Crystal - it's a purple item that I bought on the Cartel Market, Advanced Purple Outline Hawkeye Crystal - it's a purple item that I bought on the Galactic Trade Network.
I am preferred status.
