My launcher doesnt work since tuesday

try disabling the antivirus to test , and follow this guide intiially

I managed to get the launcher working by using msconfig and Safe Mode; once I returned to normal mode, the launcher continued to work, which is a good thing. However, now when I click "Play," I get an error message stating that the game has stopped working and that Windows will close the program. I’m not sure how to resolve this.

Are you using Adguard ? this has been known to cause issues recently

There is a repair on the launcher that you can try but you do need to login on the launcher first and have the play button lit 

then in the bottom left is the cogs symbol, clicking in their you can find a repair function, if it thinks it needs repairing this will be lit after patching 

No, I don’t use AdGuard. When I use Mozilla Firefox to browse the internet, I use AdBlock and uBlock Origin, but I don’t think that has anything to do with *Star Wars: The Old Republic*, as I’ve been using those programs for a long time. As for the repair process, the launcher didn’t find any errors, so I can’t repair it. I suspect the issue stems from something that is preventing me from launching the game, but I’m not sure exactly what that might be.

I have the same problem as you, since Tuesday as well. A few others on SWTOR forums have it to and no fix works for them. Not sure what to do here

this is so sad, could you send me the link to the SWTOR forum where people are having this issue? I want to read the posts from people talking about it 

The browser is based on the chromium framework so something that can affect a web browser can affect the launcher

if a launcher update occurs the launcher closes and updates however the most common thing to stop the launcher updating is an antivirus program
