Re: Can't group with GF, can't make Ticket

No problem about the questions,I don't mind answering questions, we are different classes so I never bothered with that setting, otherwise I have no idea what is going on and how code could do this to random people, it just doesn't make sense.

I just can't believe that a company would refuse tickets from people who aren't subscribers just because they don't feel like weeding out all the spam tickets (which can be really easily automated and I can't think of any other reason to not allow tickets), where they might get actual information about how glitchy their game is and the fact that I left for like 5 years to come back to a glitch that is way worse than any on any I encountered on release (and there were some bad ones on release).

We have since stopped caring as I have been trying to get off planet to just test out leaving to see if it works and since its taking me so long I just stopped bothering as I don't have the time or patience to playtest a game I used to love, again.... and I have no evidence telling me that getting to the fleet will even fix it anyway.

If you can use this information to help ensure that noone else has this issue please feel free to ask any question you want, I will tell you everything I have discovered step by step if you'd like (though I think I mostly got the gist of it said already).

PS: I messaged support, lack of response is... concerning... wish this game could have actually have done well.

As for that thread you pointed me to, that sounds exactly like our problem, I'd be curious if they encountered a similar issue on Tython.

Of course, since I'm not a subscriber anymore I can't exactly respond to them so....

Technical issues was moved to here,so everyone could get access. there is also swtor CS in this forum as well.

This issue has been narrowed down to just the Bastion Server at present, any other server should be fine.

As @proxos666 mentioned, it's been isolated on The Bastion so far, so it's still being looked into. I'll likely have an update for you in 24-48 hours!

@BioCryo Sadly no update yet, but after some investigation, it seems to be related to the Friends List, and also possibly affecting the Friends List functionality.

If you want to try something, could you try relogging and then grouping up with a player who is not on your Friends List?

I have already done that and just tried doing it again, it said I joined the group, but no portraits came up, then when I tried messaging them it said I wasn't in a group. Friends list still shows no one even though I have tried multiple times to add my gf and a few random people.

Also I got a response from support saying they have no idea whats going on, try repair on my client, and to make a bug ticket in game......  I've already tried all that and even reinstalled my game and..... they know less than I do....

Just trying to figure out any possible workarounds. As this isn't an isolated case and is affecting more than one person, and only on The Bastion, this'll need to be addressed by either a hotfix, patch, or maintenance.

I understand, there was that other group that had issues with tatooine, might be planetary based, or something specific with how you arrive there, back at the release of the game tatooine had issues around then if I recall right.

Well I started this game about 3 days ago with a friend who said I'd enjoy it a lot. We played for about 8 hours straight, made a Sith Sorcerer (myself) and a Sith Assassin. We had no issues grouping, played until we were too tired. I played solo for a day or 2, and then I convinced my wife to try the game out. We made the Jedi equivalents with her playing Sage and myself the Assassin variant. Same issue, couldn't group, no shared xp/loot and so on so forth same problems. My friend got on tonight, and now we have the same issue on our level 40 characters, to include switching to any and all planets, and any and all instances. The only sign that says we're in a party other than your aforementioned (can't invite because you're not the party leader/can't invite cause in a group), is that on the minimap, it has the player icon of party member, but it has it WAAAAY off positioning wise. Like he's standing next to me, and it says he's on the other side of the map. So now that I've already put my $20 in for some content (but not a subscriber), I also agree entirely with the bs that is, "not a subscriber, can't report about legitimate problems.". But now I feel I wasted $20 because I can't play with my friend...which is entirely the reason I play mmo genre games.

Is this on the Bastion Server ? this server is the only server currently affected to the best of our knowledge.

You can report problems here as you have done , it is the reason technical issues was moved here per this link so F2P and Preferred can also have a place to post for issues.

Yes, that is still a constant, all of us are on the Bastion server

It is being looked into , can follow up when CS get back in the morning here if any update on this

As @EA_Kipling mentioned this is likely something they are investigating, and likely they need to patch on that server otherwise they would of just done a server restart to fix it.

All other servers appear not to have this issue with grouping.

So, at least some progression on troubleshooting for some sort of quick fix while it's being resolved (I'm a network administrator, so troubleshooting is my thing). If you make the invisible party, then both use your emergency fleet pass, you can see each other's character icon, and all hope is restored...until you go to do anything, and then no loot sharing/no xp sharing, once one player attacks enemies they go gray for the other. On top of this, you cannot disband the group, or kick the other person out of the group...it's a pretty amusing bug, but it does mean that to play with my buddy we have to create new characters on another server to bypass the time for...2 and a half weeks until the servers are merged. Yep, that sounds exciting. If I encounter anything else helpful I'll let you know.

What I can say as mentioned is that this is being actively investigated, will see if any update can be provided tomorrow when the engineering team is back at work.

This isnt the case I believe , @EA_Kat and I tried to group on tython , I had an existing level 2 character and Kat made a new Character , not in our friends list, group request accepted but other then the request we where not appearing to be grouped even though the system thought we where.

this whole issue is still under investigation, but we also figured out that the friends list can be affected as well.
