Re: Game crashes after patching successfully

@Lorinnor

edit - you can redo the launcher files by using this repair utility at this link

So you are saying the launcher itself is not appearing at all ? what occurs under a clean boot per this link ? or if you make a new windows admin profile as a test ?

edit - just to clarify launcher log files are produced in the games log folder and stop recording on pressing play but they are made prior to pressing play if the launcher is running ok

    @proxos666: The launcher does appear, and it does exit after it concludes patching. Then, when I hit "Play": nothing. The game itself does not launch at all, not even a flicker that collapses or anything. And the game does not produce a log file or crash dump or anything - which is why I suspect that for some reason, swtor.exe never even launches. I'm trying to find that reason and get rid of it 🙂

    @Lorinnor

    post a dxdiag per this guide link

    you can still go to a clean boot per my previous post but will need to leave the bitraider stub loader service enabled or the launcher play button will not light up

    Thanks.

    I've tried a clean boot. Actually I've tried all the solutions linked from here, and only after they failed, I started a new thread.

    I guess I'll have to reinstall in the end, although that's what I'm trying to avoid, as it would be the end to this weekend playing...

    @Lorinnor

    i highly doubt reinstalling will help

    press the windows key and type reliability , and open the reliability history , see if you can see what has been crashing recently besides swtor

    in particular when was the windows audio service last listed as crashing will be listed as audiodg.exe

    can you also update the intel video driver with this link , as the 2017 video driver version your running isnt likely compatable with the version of win 10 your running

    I bit the bullet and did reinstall, and so far it works. Starting planet only...

    When I cleared the old install I noted it wasn't listed under Apps to uninstall anymore. Probably been missing some registry keys or so that have now been redone. Worked faster than I expected too.
