Boy, your shard mates are lucky you are not the whale in place of Styx. Altruism is giving something away. He's not giving anything away, no 1 outside of your own payout means/ gives nothing. But it'll deny others at their payouts. Lots of hurt and no benefit. Styx is not surrendering anything because outside of his payout, no 1 means nothing. He is, on the other hand, making it possible for others to get a crack at no 1 at their payouts. I'm 50% sure you still won't buy it completely though...

yeah my shard does this too. at one stage I had the stronger team and had to help out someone else by changing my team to allow him to win. and now he has the stronger team and changed his for me. we have the same payout time and we rotate 1st/2nd place everyday.

Tons of shards do this with the top of ranks. In my shard most of the top 15 players are in chat together and we can work together to help each other. It's huge to have communication with your shardmates.
@1AmYourFath3r recently joined our shard chat and he is more handsome and witty than he was before. Good stuff like that and more happens when you are in contact with shardmates. :wink:

I'm in a Line group with 8 members (and growing) for my arena shard. We all genuinely get along and help each other out. We all realize that we're not fighting each other, but EA/CG for crystals! I say that jokingly of course, but there is some truth to it. They want you to spend for crystals/gear/mods/toons so the top spot in arena payout can alleviate a small amount of that. Not only that but it's very smart tactically to know people's payouts, work in unison and have allies in your shard with you.
