Cry me a river... I didnt get free crystals, and neither did anyone else... whaling up a 7* CHS in the first couple of days cost hundreds of dollars, unless you were part of the 0.0001% that got 330 shards in a pack... and there's no facts to assumed that even they got the crystals...
This was for people's who spent hundreds of dollars to 7* a toon believing they needed it forward content (I.e., ROLO), only to find out they didn't... which must have been infuriating. So, CG decided to give them what amounted to a 25% bonus on the crystals they bought to say sorry... seems fair.
