About those zeta materials.....
Summary: If you want zetas, just buy them. Upgrading ships for the fleet challenge is a waste of your time.
Tier III Fleet Ability Materials Challenges: 10
Zeta Ability Materials Obtained: 0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,1

I took a long, hard look at the whole fleet update when it first came out and determined that the only real point in pursuing ships was to be able to unlock the zeta ability materials in the top tier ability materials fleet challenge. Maybe later they offer other challenges or fleet tournaments or an 'attack the deathstar' raid..... but maybe they don't
So, I relentlessly upgrades my ships, spent all of my crystals on ship packs, all of my Cantina energy on building materials, and all of my galactic war credits on ship shards. I have kept myself in the Rank top 3, usually Rank 1, of my group collecting 1800 tokens per day, spending those also on ship shards to get the fleet of 5 star ships I would need.
I finally got to the point where I was able to meet the requirements for the zeta material battle and got a 3 star on the first try. The result is ZERO zetas. Second chance ZERO zetas. A few days later, third and fourth chance, both ZERO zetas. I find this incredibly disappointing.
I had assumed that the drop might be 1 with chance at 2. This would be reasonable I think considering the amount of effort you have to put in to get there and at this point at least, it is the only real payoff in building ships at all.
I imagine that if I could go back in time and just sit at Rank 500+ collecting 800 tokens per day and spending them on zeta, I would have a whole stack of them by now.
