My Ahsoka is at g12 and has the first 3 gears put. With a GMY lead, Gen Kenobi and Anakin and with the Crit Chance, Crit Damage and Offence Up, she hits for around 15 to 25k per hit on her special depending on the target's armor. If it's a PvE, then this definitely reaches 35k for 1 hit. BTW she has a +36% crit dmg mod so that helps too. Still, as you stated, the basic is seriously weak and should at least do a bit of healing to make up for its shitty damage output.
