Can ally points be used for anything else besides bronzium packs? Just wondering.

I checked the weekly shipment and I can't spend anything with ally points there. Only crystals.
You may need to be level 85, but once you are, there is something available for ally points each week. Right now it’s mod slicing materials; other times it’s gear. It tends to be pretty expensive relative to the value of just pulling bronziums.
How many ally points does it normally cost to buy gear from shipments.
I think it’s generally 50k for 10 pieces.
