Arena is now ridiculous

So true. I used to run EP/Vader. Everyone ran EP/Vader, and I started slipping due to weaker mods. So I switched to Rex. Did OK, but still struggled vs the top teams. Agree. Uniqueness matters. I stay in the top hundred with my scoundrel squad. When i switch to mera lineups i get smashed in mirror matches and drop too much.

Dude, we all know that it's not live PvP. I never called it PvP. My words were: "Players battle each other" — and they do. Players compete against each other. Players fight each other's teams. Players use their strategies to rank higher at payout. I'd call that battling.

Grand Arena will be as close as we come for a while. I can't wait actually.

I get what your saying here and your right...but you should change the wording because you say invest I see that as gearing and modding toons.. What your talking about is buying shards and marquees, getting toons other people won't have for 6 months...

I can hold 20-50 that's it because i invested in gear and good mods...but I cannot "compete" because i did not buy the toons necessary to "compete" (which is totally on me no complaing)

But I will never be able to get in that club for the most part because meta changes

I invest in CLS and JTR hits

I invest in JTR get into 20's Palp rework hits back to 50-100

Invest in NS back into 20's Sion and traya hit back 50-100

So basically I'm stuck now My CLS, My JTR, my NS cannot beat any traya comps, any palp comps, any revan comps...

My arena totally consists of whether or not someone is able to climb with Batista or CLS/Chewy my arena rank does not depend on me it actually depends on others.....no batista or CLS.... I fall fall fall fall and it just got a lot worse with revan..

If you dont' have revan, chewy, or traya right now is the worst time to be an arena player in this game :)

Sure you see a nest or a maul or something crazy now and then but lets face it that's less than 1% of the players right now

It's not a big deal I just have to suck it up for 6 months get the characters gear em up and I'll be back in the 20's for a month or two until the next god toon comes and the cycle continues...

hey at least for 2 montths of the year i get to be in the 20's....lot better than the thousands of others

But the cycle does get old

Or be inventive....
We have a couple of Q’ira teams in amongst Revan/Traya
And even 1 BH team - although he uses Nest with 4 BHs.

I think you're reading your own preconceived notions into the suggestion. You don't need to buy anything.

A good RJT team can still beat any EP lead team.

A good NS team can beat Traya lead teams and Revan teams.

I've heard that the right droid comp can beat Revan.

CLS with a 5 or 6 star Chewie can beat Traya teams.

Heck, I ran Rex (L), CLS, Nest (4 star), Nihilus, and Thrawn for months to climb through Traya teams.

Invest in one or more of these teams. Don't buy anything.

I F2P the new Scoundrels and hold sub 100 in an old shard. Qira, Vandor, YHan, L3 all 7* g11+. Have Young Lando and his ship at 6* . In my arena team, I do use RHan and OG Chewie instead of YHan and YLando, but I have the whole new team anyway. I use Lando's Falcon in my Fleet as 3rd reinforce. And in TW all get used.

Pick a team and stick with it. Make sure it leads to a legendary character and get that. Bounty Hunters and Scoundrels serve double duty for some things and are good beginner choices. All can work in arena with a little mix and match. (Meaning mostly, Thrawn, CLS, or OGChewie are plug and play and you should get one early).
