Assault Battles update when?

Question

I played this game back in 2018-2019 and then stopped for six years. And now I've been playing again for about a year.

I noticed that the assault battle rewards aren't updated to include the "newer" (released after 2019) characters. Like, not all the rebels are included in rewards for rebel round up. Even in the recent military might assault battle, not all the empire characters are in the rewards. I already had all these characters 7-starred from when I first played, and there have been so many new ones added. I know that there are the new assault battles (duel of fates, peridea pals, and fanatical devotion), but even with fanatical devotion, the Jedi rewards don't include all the jedis.

Is there a reason that the rewards haven't been updated? Or a reason why not all the factions (eg pirates, Mandalorian, resistance, etc) have an assault battle? A reason barring money because I know CG is greedy af and would rather us spend money to progress, but were there ever talks to update the assault battle rewards?

The Assault Battles are essentially frozen.&nbsp; However, each Era is getting 2 new events, which are basically the modern version of Assault Battles.&nbsp; The rewards (especially if you haven't 7 stared the era characters and/or are always short of credits) are very very good.

That’s not my experience of the Era battles. I’ve found them very helpful when the era characters become farmable as you will typically get around 25 shards spread amongst the new characters each time they run. Very beneficial for f2p.

It seems like we're just upgrading characters for grand arena

and TB, Conquest, TW…

I understand the desire to update the old Assault Battles, and CG apathy will likely be a significant factor in why they haven’t done so. On the other hand, it’s fair enough that they want newer characters to be obtained by newer means as well.

The era challenges and era battles are cool in theory because something new is always interesting, but it's also just so frustrating to have essentially pay to play challenges - too short of time to get characters upgraded, too short of time to make progress on the challenges/era battles, then they go away until CG says "yeah, we can throw you a bone" like the anniversary rotation when they temporarily brought back the previous era battles. It seems like we're just upgrading characters for grand arena, which isn't the best&nbsp;
