The reason why they are disliked is because you can't farm them effectively. With out a high quantity of ships, the ship mode and all metas are somewhat broken. So here is a simple yet wonderful solution.Add the ships to the corresponding characters hard node and Cantina battle. You can pull both the characters and ships shards in the same node. Then rotate the newly released to the ship store and GW store. Win-Win Players win you get extra character shard for shop. And easier farm of shipsEa/CG Win we play nodes we otherwise don't need to play much. Burning more energy and making more in game decisions on team. What do you think?

Because it's in their interest to slow progression. The slower the progression, the more likely that someone gets impatient and throws money at their Fleet Pack.

I'd guess it's also to do with the fact that they knew they released ships with minimal content. By making the farming longer, they gave themselves a little extra time to develop new content.

For ships....hard node is easier. Been waiting 2 weeks for the last ten shards on slave 1.
