why speed?

I would guess to use his specials as soon as possible and to burn through debuffs faster for the benefit.

Though a slow ST would help as well if they have some debuffers... wait til they remove your initial taunt, then taunt again:)

There is a team I play against whos STHan can be slower than my SunFac (depending on crits etc), and tis a pain in my arse cause he usually taunts right after SunFac goes forcing 4,5,6 attacks before SF goes again.
