Pretty sure some of my guild mates got 7 star Vader couple weeks ago too. Meanwhile I'm over here with 20/100 :(

Congratulations, this is quite an achievement and IMHO should warrant an achievement of its own - like a 500k kind of achievement since he is a play to gain character and cannot be purchased or farmed.

You might not be aware, but you can refresh shard shop shipments now. This will allow you to "farm/purchase" vader.

And I agree about the achievement. It would be nice to have an in-game achievement as well as a Play Store/ iOS achievement.

I am aware of the Shard Shop and that has helped get me closer but it'll still be a few months from 7* though perhaps only a few short weeks for 6*.

Unrelated to this quote, what sort of damage can Culling Blade get at 7*? Mine at G9, lvl 80 and 5* can muster up to 40k with significant debuffs in place but I've heard rumors of 100k at 6* and G10. Truth or fiction?

Am I wrong in assuming that any guild on top of the leaderboard had to do some alt hopping to even get there? How else could they be far ahead of guilds like TI...

Vader isn't a pay Toon, you have to work your **** off to get him. There have only been a total of 60 (if that) drops in the shard shop. The rest is through achievement period. Money is not going to help the requirements for 85% of the achievement.

Ok, look at what you just said. You can only get 85% of the way there through achievements (by the way, looking at boogies GG profile, he does not have the 2500 arena wins achievement, thus he doesn't have those 3 shards).

The remaining 15% to get to a 7* Vader requires MONEY. Unless someone is super lucky, they have used crystals to refresh. I guess technically they could have saved the crystals and never purchased anything.. but that is highly unlikely.

So yes, if the achievement is a 7* Vader, money is required.

I agree here. Unfortunately Vader is also a pay toon no matter what everyone says.

Now I wish that there were enough achievements/reward shards so people could unlock him only by completing the most difficult of achievements. Then he would reward merit. But the way he is now, a 7* Vader is no different than a 7* GG.

I thought about refreshing shard shop to get my last 30 or so shards for 7* vader, but then I thought whats the point, even at 7* I dont think i'd have much use for him at this point

This. Vader is not a "pay to own" toon....but at this point in the game 7* Vader is.
