I say hogwash and don’t believe that excuse for a second. These are extremely intelligent people and there’s very little chance they believe that data is truly relevant in this case and if so, just wow.
I think the truth is that not only can they not monetize it like they would want to, they probably believe it would negatively affect income.
I could believe this. I mean the ability to test all different combinations of characters would give people the ability to find cheap and potentially undergeared counters to meta teams. It would really upset the balance at the top of arena shards.
