Unless they broke it in the Ships update, then no, it doesn't. They fixed this many moons ago.

I was in the middle of an arena battle, I won and it registered as a win

There's never a good time for a restart. Someone will always be in the middle of something.

Which is why they finally listened and made it so that your raid damage/arena battle/gw fight/ls-ds mission result was saved regardless.

I was at the end of my arena battle and won.
