Two parts of communication are choosing your moment and choosing your venue.
"Immediately" and "in the middle of the most vitriolic available echo chamber" are not necessarily the wisest choices.
It will take months for the dust to settle on ships 2.0. A lot of the current discourse is reactionary outrage from those whose arena standings are somewhat worse due to the rebalancing, or the same assertion that comes out in response to literally every move they make that it's just money-grubbing, and there isn't really anything productive you can say to that.
Enfys got a very thorough response that she's working as intended. There is little in the current discourse asking for an answer that isn't addressed in the post I just linked. They may not be the answers folks want but they're quite thorough.
Marquee events don't require prior notification or preparation. You just have to show up. We don't need a calendar for them. Consider them happy surprises.
Enfy was a singular response if i am not mistaken, and the only reason it was made was so that people would continue to purchase.
The sith raid topic had a response giving a defined time that they would get back to the community. That time has nearly doubled.
The ships were a money grab, i think thats very, very clear. The Genosians.... really. Either way at least acknowledge your community.
Marquees do not require prior communication. But they used to have a build up with creative forum posts and teaser videos. All gone. Showing a reduction in community engagement.
If your CM needs 4 weeks to learn how to post on a message board he is in charge of, i again question CG's interview and selection process. I get it, the labor pool is rough right now but yeesh.
Let me give an example. You can get free cable via an antenna, or choose to pay for premium cable. You buy cable because you want HBO. Game of thrones is the greatest thing ever. Heck you even have a Dire wolf because you love the show. The cable company decides that they arent such a fan of Thrones. As a matter of fact they think you would like Sesame Street a lot more. So they change your package. You think, hey, i paid for HBO, I even bought a Dire Wolf. When complaining you get no response. You write letters, use twitter, make calls, nothing. No response. As a paying customer do they not have some obligation to address your concerns? If your answer is No, then I ask why would anyone remain a customer. If yes then I submit that CG is woefully failing in the addressing of their customers concerns on a biblical level.
A CUSTOMER should not have to wait weeks for a response from the company providing a service that changed the core of that service. Period.
