Crying Out for Help
Hi CG team,
I’ve always enjoyed SWGOH, but lately I’ve seen more and more burnout among players. Sadly, some of our guild’s key members, even those who have spent money on the game, are leaving.
Here are the main issues I keep hearing, both from my guild and from players who have already quit:
- The cost of the game
Paying for a season pass feels fine – it’s normal in most games.
But nowadays it feels like you need to pay for everything just to keep up.
This game is becoming far more expensive than most AAA titles with their gamepasses.
I personally don’t mind supporting a game I enjoy, but most players won’t – and they’re showing it by leaving instead of spending. You must see this trend in your data. - Time commitment
Back in 2017, daily activities took 10–20 minutes.
Now, to do everything properly, it takes hours every day. Some of our members even shared screen time screenshots to prove it.
It’s simply not sustainable for most players in the long run. - Content design
Conquest (CQ): While it’s good that CQ became an important part of the game, the actual gameplay feels repetitive and boring.
Doing the same feats with the same 1–2 teams, over and over, is exhausting.
Stamina loss forces people to log in 3–4 times a day, which adds stress instead of fun.
Raids: Fun at first, but quickly become repetitive and stale.
Territory Battles: The battles are long and time-consuming. They were fun at first, but now feel like a grind. Please make missions simmable once we’ve achieved 3 stars.
TB Operations: Assigning units manually is tedious. A system to pre-assign or auto-assign would be a huge quality-of-life improvement. - Character releases
New characters feel like they’re being churned out from a factory line.
Often we don’t even know or care about these characters, yet they’re required, and heavily monetized. It feels forced. - Mods
Personally, I like mods because they give me an edge (since many players don’t want to bother).
But for the health of the game, mod management needs serious quality-of-life improvements to make it less painful and more accessible.
Finally – and this may sound sarcastic – the only reason our guild hasn’t collapsed is because other guilds are collapsing first, so we can recruit their players. That shouldn’t be the state of the game.
I appreciate that you’ve tried to introduce some quality-of-life changes, but please – do more, and do it soon. Many players are at a breaking point, and I fear for the future of the game if nothing changes.
Sorry for the long post, but this has been weighing on my mind, and I know many others feel the same way.
