Is this game regulated by any gambling / gaming commissions? I don't understand how it isn't, since that's essentially what it is. Casinos legally have to post odds. Why doesn't GOH legally have to post drop rates and the factors that impact them?

On a different note, if you were hunting for Nihilus so you could run him with Dooku or Baze so you could run him with Chirrut, then you deserve it since those are the most disgustingly overused combinations in this game.

They can manouvre around these regulations by offering them for ingame currency. That's why the variable packs are offered for crystals. It's a con all the same.

The RNG god lowers the drop rate when you only need one shard/gear/mod. Didn't you get the memo?
    It S*x dude :(

My RNG god doesn't want me to have Slave 1 at 5*.

This person speaks truth! I have burned countless double cantina refeshes only to get nothing. RNGesus is an uncaring God. Worship It & Despair!
  • I don't mind the gambling aspect of the game, but hitting a good win seems few and far between.

I did get a lot of high tier rare wins from playing the slots in Borderlands 2. There was a site that listed the odds of the various prizes and b o o b y prizes.
  • I understand all of the RNG logic for those free players, and the RNG when it comes to damage and attacking, but when it comes to getting content in the game it truly is gambling. A traditional console or pc game has the content with it and you have to earn/unlock your way to get all of the rewards or characters. There is no guess work, or luck involved. You spend the time to accomplish tasks and you earn the prize after you payed for it.

I now realize the reason why people who get angry or annoyed (myself included) is because we believe we are owed something for spending money and that translates into an expectation. But we would never think this way when we walk into a casino. Once I opened my eyes to this concept, I now no longer get angry when I don't get something. I just think, I didn't win the pull of the slot machine, or that I just busted on a soft 16. I go into a casino knowing I am never going to see that money again, but we don't think that way with games.

Anyone who thinks this isn't gambling, is fooling themselves. This literally is purest form of gambling. The crazy (yet best for CG) part is they are pitting our money against each other and collecting it, just like a "house". lol It's unbelievably brilliant and now I see it for what it is.

with that said, I will continue to play as I do enjoy the guild members and some of the basics to the game, but see this for what it really is.
  • It's in their programming algorithms to create droughts so to speak in the more commonly purchased items per player, with the exact intent for you to buy crystals for refreshes. DONT FEED THE GREMLINS!!!
  • I'll give you a tip, after playing a while, you'll realize, never refresh anything, you'll spend hundreds of crystals because the game knows what you need, you only see what you need in the shipments when you don't have the crystals to buy it, and that's a fact.
