Freemium games are a psychological warfare, they rely on people getting addicted and that they will not leave because:
1 they love star wars
2 already invested too much money to leave
3 invested too much time to leave.

So that fact that many people are leaving (or shifting to f2p) as described by the OP and as many of us are observing, is a very serious challenge to the strength of the game.
