Just curious, but has anyone actually ever spent 1,299 crystals and gotten 330 shards from a data pack. I've only ever opened a few and the most I've gotten is 15."Possible shard drops include: 5, 7, 10, 12, 15, 20, 25, 50, 80, 145, 230, 330."If the character they offer is in cantina or a hard node then isn't it better to spend the 1300 crystals on refreshes and energy if you get less then 15 shards on average? This post might get moved, but I haven't seen a similar topic elsewhere.

330 shards is only possible at 95+/100

I believe the general consensus is that they are a total waste of crystals. People have gotten 330 shards as well as 10, 15,25 as well but the if I remember a good majority of the packs yield the minimal 5 shards.

Youre probably more likely to win the lottery that getting 330 shards. Average shard drop is apparently 7

LS/DS/Cantina energy refresh is definitely worth it if you are farming hard. Cantina refresh is necessary for farming the vets. I could spend 640 and buy 8 shards (80 per shard) or refresh 3x for 300 crystals and get an average of 10 shards (30 per shard).

So you're saying spending 50 crystals to refresh LS/DS on the chance you may get an additional shard or two is worth more than just saving your crystals and buying what shards/mats you need from the stores outright? Ok then!

50 crystal refresh of ENERGY is worthwhile. Node refresh is another story but is somewhat debatable depending on how quickly you need those shards.

Node refresh is DEFINITELY a waste, not sure I agree on Energy refreshes though. You get enough of those throughout the day and if you're really hurting for the 1-2 extra shards/mats to bump you to next level, why not just wait until refresh to use what's already given? For those who want to take that chance, more power. I've geared and starred toons so quickly, especially since recent update. Cantina refresh on the other hand, is totally worth it.

Have you actually done the math? Those who have say that the energy refreshes are worth it.

Pre-level cap they are unquestionably worth it.

I buy those every now and then, if I'm not saving for a specific thing, and it's a character I like. What's the harm in rolling the dice if you've got spare crystals? 5 shards? That's 5 less to worry about later when I'm farming. 10 or 15? Even better.
