Part 2 (6 months later)
I will reiterate what I've already stated: this should be a pretty easy fix of you use multi-layered matchmaking.
- GP
- GL Count
- Relic Count
That isn't GP match making. It's not GL match making, and it's not relic match making. It's all three within each and every single tier.
That means in lower ranks
- High GP accounts that put in little effort get matched together. They can be evenly matched and still put in minimal effort
- Low GP accounts will get matched together. Then GL & Relic count comes into play so a player with 1 GL and mostly gear 12 units must likely will not get matched with someone who has focused entirely on GL (having say 3 GL, and pretty much "all" their units are relic because it's likely an alternate account, that's chasing GL reqs which is why everything else will be 1- star except GL requirements
- Guess what, no GL and no relics also get matched together. So even if you think you'll come ahead by GP fluffing with no GL, and no relics you are still going to get matched with people who think exactly like you do
Fact:
It will never be fool proof no matter what you do. That's physicallyimpossible. But you can make it better than it is now
Fact:
No matter what tier you're in, you will be facing similar opponents no matter what, which will always give you a fighting chance at winning no matter what the circumstances are
Fact:
By virtue of having a fighting chance at winning at least 2 matches every single event, you will automatically make players more engaged and invested into the event. They'll like it, they'll complain less because matches will be a whole lot more even all across the board.
Edited to add:
Just take a look at the screenshot or search "GAC" in general discussions.
You mean to tell me with over 4 THOUSANDS posts, that there's "nothing" to be done to improve the event?
Be for real. Somewhere in the 4335 posts there are really good suggestions. And maybe if you try combining some of the best ones you'll find a solution that works at least 90% of the time, instead of whatever you want to call what we have now.
