I completely agree with the OP. The player base is shrinking. I have not only noticed it in my recruiting but so have many others in alliances that I am affiliated with. One alliance of guilds confided that of 7-8 guilds, they had lost 40 to burnout in the last month. My guild has experienced a similar rate of burnout among high-quality players. But you probably would not see this yet, unless you are a guild recruiter.
TB's are a different game model, and one that I do not feel is as successful at the previous raid model. Development seems to be going into pushing out buggy modes of gameplay, rather than optimizing what we already have (how long have we dealt with the ticket counter bug?).
The developers do not seem interested in our suggestions for game improvements. I think they are going to keep trying to throw spaghetti at the wall and seeing what sticks for the short term. The unfortunate consequence is that players are going to continue to burn out until EA feels it in the revenue stream, and gets its act together.
For the time being, I am not spending another dime on a game I feel I could get up and leave at any moment. I am not alone.
