Do crit avoidance mods work?

They work great on Ahsoka, since crits lower her stats. That's only character I've bothered using it on.

I am glad someone had luck with them. I only tried on Ahsoka vs droids and she only took crit hits :(. Probably doesn't mean much when the attackers are have crit chance close to 100%.

Work really well on tank! Put a crit avoidance on 5 and he's almost immune crit...whit high defence stat+crit avoidance....even my droids at 80% crit don't crit. Trust me on this one

All the guys I have crit avoidance on, I have never seen a crit on them

Thanks for the info. Maybe I will have to give it a try with 5's now that I am not really facing the 95-100% crit chance droids.

According to that, it works and it does reduce the critical rating by that much, possibly to the point where a toon wouldn't crit you at all (if they had a crit rating lower than 24).

Remember that it's good to block crits not only for damage -- lots of abilities trigger on crit (like HR Scout gets 100% TM, GS gets TM too,...)

So giving it a try with 5's 11 attacks only 2 crits 1 was Biggs assist call so where only other person was stunned but it won't really help with Biggs assist call so not to bad. Will have to see how it plays out.

I have tried on RG with and Without. I have 3 such mods on various characters moved them around. I see ZERO difference in using then without. RG doesn't stay alive longer and I watch the damage and people can crit with regular intervals regardless if that character has the mod or not.

I have found that its better to just get better mods and boost that character stats with something like protection or crit chance than a chance at avoiding something..

I also found that RG does better with more offense like crit damage mod... rather than waiting HOPING someone doesn't get that crit damage at the precise moment.

Well, i can't really take you serious if you'd rather equip offensive mods on RG. Furthermore, crit avoidance and crit damage primaries don't use the same slot, you could easely use both at the same time.
Whether crit avoidance is better than protection is a question i ask myself alot. With crit chance being boosted ALOT by players, crit avoidance might not have the desired impact. I'm too lazy to keep track of the hit/crit hit ratio, so i hoestly don't know wich one is better.

Sounds like if crit avoidance was available on more mods than just the arrow, it would be a great counter to Lando spam and could really offset the whole dps barrage going on atm.
