You can farm some non-meta teams and have fun too... You don't need META to be in top 50. Ewoks continue to shine in GW and Rancor, my full jawa (g11) team is in top 50 and can clear gw nearly by themselves (yes i face chirrut and baze, wiggs teams, and tfp teams...).
Just, focus on a team, and only one at a time. When they'll be geared enough, you'll be making your way through top 50 arena, and then focus on another one.
I'm a non-meta player, and meta teams are easy to come by on offense around those ranks.
