It depends on what's important to you. Some people think winning is the only thing that matters and being #1 confers status. To them the meta doesn't just matter, it's the only thing that matters. They're the folks that make threads about how a certain character is a garbage waste of time and needs a rework immediately (and, when pressed to suggest a rework, they basically turn everyone into Wiggs.) because arena is the only important thing.
