IMO this should for sure happen. If you get past the final hard boss you should be rewarded for it.

True. Datadisks aren't a reward, they are a tool you use to get the reward. That said, even after the last boss, they make it easier to complete the remaining feats.

Let me clarify my stance, as you appear to misunderstand me.

When I said I wouldn’t see it as a reward I meant being given a definite 4 dot disk instead of the possibility of some actually useful 1 or 2 dot disks.

I sometimes get 4 dots appear and sometimes not but I never use them as I would much rather have several lower dot disks.

A better way for me to word it would have been that a definite 4 dot disk I would see as hindering my chances and a penalty not an improvement on the current system.
