Yeah the calendar is in EA/CG'are best interest; easier for the masses to plan and fewer things to complain about
Sure it would be great. Id love to see it happen as well, however it is not in CG's best interest. What works best is minimal warning before an event in an effort to get people to spend a little cash if there not quit ready for it.
Completely 100% disagree. People see an event coming and may pay a bit to prepare. Many events are completely impossible to prepare for once they have started. Also it's a fact that people get furious over stuff getting sprung on them, and then missing out. A calendar of events prevents angry customers rage quitting.
This^^
There is a difference between short notice and no notice.
If people see something on a calendar and have some time to prep they will spend (if they want to) to prep.
If you have no time to prep you can't spend (even if you would) there is no feasible way in this game to just buy everything you need immediately.
Yup. There is only one time I've spent money on a crystal pack, and it was very early on when I KNEW the Yoda event was coming back in about a month, and I wanted to farm enough Jedi to get him. I used them for extra Cantina refreshes to farm Jedi faster. Monetizing a calendar is easy for them. "Here is an event in 2 weeks. Here are some $50 packs of toons needed for it."
