Fleet Shipments - Ships, Toons, or Zeta?

Maybe I'm an anomaly, but I unlocked the tier 3 ship ability mats challenge two and a half weeks ago and have been getting at least one zeta from it every day that the challenge rolls around ... sometimes 2 zetas, like today. I also buy zetas with the ship currency ... Hence the total time needed to farm the necessary zetas for one toon, using both methods, is looking like 2.5 to 3 weeks.

What's the level requirement for it?

Purchase zetas until you have enough to build one, then focus on ships. In no way should ship shop currency be used for anything else until you get to the point where zetas are farmable.

I haven't farmed dark side characters either but I'm working on it slowly now so by the time I hit level 78 I'll be set, hopefully I can keep holding rank 1 for that long

To unlock the tier 3 ability mats challenge you need to first unlock tier 4 of the Tarkin challenge, for which you need five 4* non-capital Dark Side ships. Once you've passed tier 4 of the Tarkin challenge you'll need eight non-capital 5* ships (Dark Side and/or Light Side) to unlock the tier 3 ability mats challenge.

Purchase blueprints in FS (and GW) until you can complete the Zeta challenge. Then farm blueprints that only show up in FS (Poe, Slave 1, Scimitar, etc...). Farm Zeta's from the challenge and augment your farming by buying a few Zetas from time to time. I farmed 18, bought 2, Zeta'd Maul and now back to farming (5/20). Drop rates are horrible in the challenge but it is what it is. I rarely buy shards in FS since the toons I am working on (Sun Fac & Rex) also show up in Guild Shop. (45/100 on Rex already and 65/85 on Sun Fac)

Whats the chances that zeta farming will be opened up to allow 4 5* LS ships instead of DS Ships? Feels like you shouldnt be penalized to opt to go with LS ships..

You can do zeta challenge with ANY six 5* ships....

But you need tarkins capitol ship at 5* too...which requires you to have five 4* dark side ships....

Yeah so they need to open it up to allow any 5* capital ship. Leaves a bad taste in the mouth after planning your ship fleet only to find out it is highly useless for zetas without going for unwanted DS ships
