There is No Reason to make waves 1-3 an insanely easy, time consuming chore before a rng heavy phase 4, besides frustration...and same goes for wave 8. It’s mostly a boring slogfest, where the only fun is 20% of the encounter.

I haven't seen anyone with high relics struggle against Teebo
All assault battles have a mid-boss on wave 4, and just like every other assault battle and its mythic variant when it came out, wave 4 was "RNG reliant" due to using undergeared toons

The Event was another boring waste of time and a step in the wrong direction if you ask me. Because I’m addicted im still playing; but I hold very little hope for the future of the game, at this point.
