I am honestly amazed at how bad this update is. On so many levels and for so many reasons. Not only does it seem like CG/EA has been completely ignoring all of the player feedback over the past few weeks/months, it also appears as though they have completely disregarded the lessons learned and actually corrected over the past two and half years. Since I have a busy day today, I don't have time to explain in too much detail, so I will be as succinct as possible.
Primary reasons this is a very poor update:
1) It does nothing to help tiers 1-6. This has been covered ad nauseum, so there is no reason for me to go into it in any great detail.
2) Regarding the changes to HSith specifically, you have repeated the non-friendly competition within a guild payout structure....again. A top-heavy rewards structure that is so strongly tiered is EXACTLY what people didn't like about the initial Rancor rewards structure. It was the reason that HAAT rewards were more evenly distributed. This time though, instead of doing so with a single character, you have done it with something far more important - "some of the most powerful gear we have released".
3) HSith Raid rewards now encourage guild re-alignment....again. Again, most players thought that CG/EA had finally moved away from content that deliberately encourages breaking up guilds. HAAT encouraged stronger players to seek out (at the time) "super guilds" that could complete HAAT. Now, you have done the opposite. With a top-heavy and clearly tiered rewards system for HSith that so strongly favors only the top performers, very strong guilds will have little choice but to send out their players finishing in the middle to weaker guilds who can barely accomplish HSith, so those players can be in the top tiers of a weaker guild. This will eventually effect (infect?) all guilds and players. So while this currently is a concern/issue for the top tier players, it will eventually negatively impact ALL current players.
It is honestly baffling how you can suddenly be releasing such ill-though out updates in such close proximity. First, Ships 2.0 which gave us hard nerfs and more RNG - neither of which players asked for. Now this rework to STR which ignore tiers 1-6 and completely ignores the mistakes and frustrations involved in past raid reward structures.
Honestly, I am starting to regret spending so much time on these forums posting feedback, thoughts or suggestions here, as they are clearly ignored and disregarded completely.
And please - feel free to not respond, as your in-game actions speak so loudly that the patronizing "we're listening" response by various CG employees who clearly are not, only makes it worse.
