Hey y’all. I wanted to warn every one so they don’t fall into the same problem I did. I finally got enough gear for another G13. Stoked, right?! So I crafted the gear on a different character, thinking I would stash it for later. The gear had the same name, same sub-gear to craft it, but was NOT interchangeable. Check it out- here’s an example- sith trooper and STH have the exact same gear 13 piece, same name, same crafting recipe. But they are not interchangeable!!! So now, I am stuck with this G13 piece I can’t use on the character I want.very frustrating.

I really hope this isn't WAI. That would be awful.

If you read the description in the gear pack(s) inthe shop, it tells you that any gear 13 piece crafted is unique to the character its crafted for.

Yeah they’ve already said that G12 finishers you craft on one character will not be compatible on another character

Sounds like an easy misstake to make and they definitely should have some kind of warning/alert to avoid that ppl waste very expensive resources in crafting a gear piece that can’t be used. Thanks for the heads up, will be extra careful now!

I'm assuming OP didnt have the character they intended to upgrade to g13 at g12 yet, so they just crafted the g13 piece on another character since you cant craft pieces unless ur at the required gear tier.

Then don’t craft it at all. It’s really not that difficult? You can only assume they had both characters at g12, otherwise it wouldn’t be that simple to see that they both needed the same gear to take to g13.

If it's the latter, stick to my addiction to the forum which could arguably be true. Calling me a whale who's addicted to spending just doesn't apply at all since i'm completely f2p.
Also, people do care. Even on this very forum, if you've got a real problem whether it's in real life or ingame/online, there are always others willing to help.

I don't really understand the rationale of having 2 or more gear pieces which have the same exact name and are crafted with the exact same components, yet which are unique to the character on whom they were crafted. It would make sense if you could un-equip gear, but that's not the case here. If they wanted to make the g13 pieces feel exclusive or personalized to that character, then they should have made them visually differentiable somehow. I just don't get the point of doing it this way.

In the very early days of the game pre-crafting of some gear pieces was a problem. This is one of the ways of preventing it.

You’re just speculating. No way they’re trying to prevent whales from whaling. If any reasoning is real it’s to pads their pockets more up front, and ultimately long term.

I'm not saying you're wrong, but how does that stop those same players from hoarding all the gear for those G13 pieces? Surely it makes no difference whether you actually craft the G13 part or simply have the pieces of gear needed to craft it? Or am I missing something? (<-probably that, lol!)
