GAC Attacking First

There is no way to do what you are asking currently.

However, you could look at it from the other side; going first and doing well could put the pressure on your opponent to match your efficiency on banners.

Seems a little bit like who receives the ball first in football (American)- people will have their preferences but theres no real advantage.

People always say this but it doesn't make any sense.

The only way attacking first is a "disadvantage" is if you're trying to do the bare minimum to win the round.

If you're trying to max out your championship score i.e. get as many medals as possible, it doesn't matter who attacks first because you should be trying to get the highest score you can anyway.

To your analogy, in american football say you have one possession each. First team scores a td. Second team scores and decides to go for a 2 point conversion getting 8 points instead of 7 and wins.

2nd team also loses ability to go for field goal tho

Besides most matches have malak and crew in front so basically the endzone has been removed from map so cant have football analogy without endzone lol

Most of these matchups are based on efficiency when everyone has high level toons. So yes it matters, it makes a person have to decide whether they go in with undersized squads or not to squeeze out extra points. If youre attacking first you may not be going in with an undersized squad but the second team knows it has to take that risk.

So if the first team scores a TD on their drive, second team has to score a TD on their drive as well or else they lose, a field goal does them no good.

That's what I was trying to say above that while there may be a perceived advantage of waiting to attack to see what you need to win, if my opponent averages 57 or 58 banners per battle, the pressure is completely on me.

If you are basing how efficient you should be on how efficient your opponent is, you doing it wrong.

If that's the case then you should go for 2 if you're the first team and worried that you can't stop the second. Same in GA. To put pressure on your opponent you can't just kick a field goal or score a TD with no extra points. You need to put up a 7 (high pressure on the other team) or 8 (maximum pressure).

I use both strategies. I usually go first. Sometimes I'll clear half of the zones and stop to see what my opponent does. I almost never just sit and do nothing. I average more than 2 wins per GA.

Others swear by the wait and see approach. Both can be used effectively.

That's always been the case....if someone goes first and clears the map or clearly can't clear any further teams, then the other person can just do the math to see how many banners they'd need to get to win. Nothing has changed there.
