The only possible point of banners now would be in Kyber 1 but it's unclear if that's even the case. If you look at the division rewards, Kyber 1 still has ranked rewards for the end-of-event rewards. All of the other divisions have the same end-of-event rewards no matter your rank in the division. However, the rankings are currently broken and that issue is being sorted out. It's really not clear at this point whether banners are being counted for the rankings and they aren't tracked anywhere. It seems like they would have to use banners for the Kyber 1 ranked rewards, but outside of maybe that, there doesn't seem to be any point to banners outside of determining the win/loss in the round.
