Gear Economy - Sept RA

This is a weird part of that road ahead. There are three different things said about this.

The text of the RA is as you say up there. "Adding important gear to hard nodes".

Crumb's voice says "increasing gear drop rates".

The on screen text in the vid says increasing shards. Shards are character parts, not gear parts.

So I don't know what they are actually doing.

Any of them would effectively improve the gear economy. But they are all different.

Adding important gear to hard nodes seems the least likely. That would mean every hard node gets one of the core gear pieces added to it? I scoff at your optimism.

Increasing gear drop rate on hard nodes is what was stated way back in the original phase 1 stuff, and what crumb actually said. So I expect that is the most likely. Lots of characters don't have any particularly useful gear along with them, but hey, relic salvage counts, right? If they go with the double drop rate on hard nodes, it just means you get the same gear for your energy whether you are on a hard or normal node. It's extra while farming characters, but the same otherwise.

The increase character shards from the video text would speed up character farming and eventually free up your energy to get gear. But they already did this with accelerating characters, so I doubt it. Also it is only more gear if you are finished with every character. That didn't line up with the sentiment of "more gear while farming characters" that is both written in the RA post and in what crumb says.

It's some sloppy communication.

Don’t forget that they also state there will MORE changes later

“ We also have a few more changes for Phase 1 of the Gear Changes that we want to wrap up in the near future. There are 2 changes that will be happening soon:
We will be adding important Gear to hard nodes to allow you to get some Gear while farming character shards
Adding Core Gear to Shipments for Shard Shop Currency”
So even though these 2 changes are happening “Soon™️“ I hope they stay true to their word and give us more..

Don’t make us wait another 12 months CG.

Well, we can’t trust anything CG says, so there’s that. They have proven this to us over and over. Don’t believe anything until you see it in game.

New update is out, but didn't see any word on:

"We will be adding important Gear to hard nodes to allow you to get some Gear while farming character shards"

Still holding out hope for some of the announced gear changes..

They did say they were going to DOUBLE the Core Gear Drops, so one would expect to see a "2" under the piece, like an accelerated character has. But this is not the case. It still says "1".

I have not given up... in addition to the core gear drops they also wanted to flatten the rewards in TW... lol

I believe this is referring to doubling the gear drop rate on hard nodes which is already done

Wondering the same. If they said anywhere, anytime that this is the case, we should confirm it with some numbers on our side. If all is a-ok, it's certainly more profitable to prioritise hard nodes even for finished characters.

From what I understood when it was explained, it was close to but not exactly drop rate x2 to avoid just that.

i didn't either but players have reported an increased drop rates in discord servers

CG prob forgot to mention it
