Genuine Question on Pricing

What metric is CG using for deciding prices for LSB and other materials?  The value is most definitely off for your average person living on a budget.

It feels like if they lowered the prices on many of these they would get more buyers.   For example.  $50 for the inquisitors.  I’m sorry… they are simply not worth that.   If I am spending that kind of money I am getting KCD2 and/or Avowed.  (RPG and PoE fan.)  That is nearly a new game price.  For characters that are limited in use.  Yes, they have a good ceiling but you are not getting the characters that give them that ceiling.   If you argue the kyrotech is the value then I have to ask based on what metric?  The one they created themselves?  The gear is overpriced too.  People who do not have the means to pay will just farm it.  The only argument I can see is the fact that the prices are for those saving time.  Is it worth the price of new games?

For those whom are against the LSB’s or say farming is dead I have to retort with this.  How else do newer players get characters up fast enough to do anything in a game this old?  Without them they would perpetually be locked out of new content.   Or guilds capable of doing new content because of a lack of power or units.   I can see a team like the inquisitors being worth $25.  Like some of the BH packs.  Not $50 though.  That just feels insulting.  Maybe have a set unit price in packs that will lower the price if you already have a unit in the pack.  Example.  The Kenobi pack that has the negotiator.   I already have every unit.  Only missing the negotiator.  I am not paying $50 for that pack and especially for just the cap ship.

  • I agree with OP if prices were cheaper more people will buy for example when they sold HDB for 9,99

Its better to sell HDB for 9,99 and 100 000 people buy and sell HDB for 49,99 and only 10 people buy.

When SLKR and REY came out look how many people jumped on the band wagon.

Almost everyone in our guild stopped there farm and started working on SLKR and REY

I'm cautious to buy NEW LSB because if something goes wrong they give you crystals and you don't get your LSB

  • In essence you are saving $250 if you were to buy the kyrotec alone with crystals, not to mention the relic mats required.  I think its steep but a great value if you break it out.  I bought it but im still a couple months out from really getting what they can unlock due to other priority farms.

IMHO, Honestly I think CG feels they set the bar with the early onset and repeted hunger for LSBs.

Early onset = SLKR/SHADOWS LSBs.  The pricing (based off of current pricing) would indicate 2 things. 1, they got pricing WAY off relaying to value. 2, we will never see those LSBs again without adjusting the price (increase). They won't do that due to the negative feedback from both people who already bought or have not bought those packs.

Repeated Hunger = CG is surveying the player base for "what they would like" to see. Note the placement of the end quotes like vs. like to see. They are feeding us what we want (we as in a collective). People about for Tuskens, SEE, INQ etc. they gave it to us.
