I did a test run on 9-F. For 10 energy I got 1380 credits and 500 ship credits.
Going by your 4100 estimate thats 410 battles, So you would also gain 560k credits and 200k ship credits...
So 750 crystals worth of credits...
It is very true you do get other things with the energy. I was really only looking at farming gear because thats what I need more than anything else in the game. The value of gear is much higher than credits to me, it could be very different for someone else. But assuming you're farming gold gear, I'm pretty sure you're end game gear locked and not as credit starved as others. Its all up to how you value resources in the game I guess.
But 1713 crystals to get 50 gold gear pieces plus 560k credits and 200k ship credits is not worth it to me when you can just buy one for 750 and do without the credits.
