Grand Championship Matching

I wish there was clarification on the match making process. Did I miss something!! I built my team for GA because it was a great game mode especially for a player like me with only a year under my belt. It quickly was my favorite mode, but I am at a loss of what is going on. Becoming increasingly frustrating and tiresome.

My GP is 1.7, but my character GP is only just under 900K. Yet since GA Championships I am only paired up against people with character GP 100K plus more than mine. Usually it is opponents with character GP at 1.1-1.3 million range. And my opponents are often in the 2.1-2.3 total GP range, so it isn't as if they are the same GP level as me. More zetas, many more G12 characters (Havent seen a G13 yet though).

I was also bumped up a class upon GA championships (have to have five defensive teams compared to four). Obviously I want to have success and do not want to lose, but I feel as though I am at an unfair disadvantage.

An explanation for matchmaking is what I am looking for. Knowing how and where to focus my team so I can do better.

Has anyone experienced the same issues or have some insight on how the matchmaking process works?

Possibly... did you read the dev posts about matchmaking?
  • @podfan723 there’s a lot of people frustrated. Some of it warranted, some of it not so much. For instance, I’ve always been on the lower end of GP and CP with those that I’m matched against , this goes back to regular GA. The first round of GAC I was big time mad because there was a large difference in GP and CP between me and my opponents. I was by quite a large margin the lowest when it came to CP. However, once the battles began they were all winnable, but the error rate was very low. If I lost a toon, let alone a battle, I lost the round. Second round was more of the same. It looked a lot worst than it was. I’m saying this am losing plenty mind you, but it was either me not paying attention or just plain dumbness on my part. This time around looks like I may be in trouble because there is a major increase in the amount of differential between myself and most of my opponents, there is one that I’m higher than. Anyway, I’m saying all of this to say this, sometimes it looks bad and it’s not. You won’t really know until the battle starts. Some people have a lot of fluff.
  • I understand what you are saying. I get the challenge aspect. But I think many people like myself are trying to maximize awards and progress. It puts us at an extreme disadvantage.

If your case was correct, then why not give everyone the same rewards. Why bother with feats? Why should I be punished for constructing an efficient team.

All I am asking for is an explanation for the matchmaking process. How can I maximize my team for optimal results (and therefore rewards)?
