Guild Donation system needs updated!

So I just read a post about someone having 651 Zeta's in their account and they shared their Ally code and yet they have all their characters with Zeta's(aside from the new ones in each episode that come out at future dates of this post). Yet no way use any of them. So one suggestion I can see is its time to update the Guild Donation system. As well as add not just Zeta's, but add all Gear salvage but add all the Ability mat options as well. Update to allow more donations of the current gear, yet if you needs like Kyro's and G12 stuff, they can be limited to 3 to 5 a day, same with Zetas and 2 a day with Omis. This way there is a unique system that's outdated that could be improved plenty.

One thing that is Separate I can see with updating the Guild Donation is to have a separate locked tag in the Guild chat area to allow for Guild Donations instead of junking it in the Main Guild Chat.

Finally why not with this idea allow those on your Friends list to Donate to and from one another as well. Maybe make it less limited, but it allows players and friends to help boost their friends account a bit before a locked GAC or TW. Yes adding a Locked Tab named Friends Donations as well.

  • Agree, but this would cause problems for their capitalizing the money aspect of the game.  They’d allow donations of G12 then remove it from rewards or make it so it was even more limited drops to counter the donations.

  • AGREED

I get why back in the day higher gear were not allowed to be transferred.   But we are long past that point IMO.

All "Resources" should be transferable between Guildies & Allies via some sort of Mail/Chat system.

  • Strongly disagree that all resources should be transferable.

I do think it's reasonable to allow some new transfers. Kyros are a good candidate. For a long time they were an extremely important limit on the economy. Not as much anymore.

But there are still important limiters. Omicrons, Zetas, Droid Brains, Any relic mats from Electrium on up, and any gear that can be converted in Electriums, Zinbiddles, etc. None of these should be transferable. In theory I'm open to non-gear transfers, like ability mats, but selling LightSpeed Tokens that give you gear but NOT zetas is an important way to allow long time players to have consistent success against newer players.

In general, I think "catch up" mechanics are important for allowing newer players to "catch up" to current content. in other words, to be able to meaningfully participate in raids, TBs, etc that are current. This doesn't always mean participating at a high level. 5x 450k is 2.2M raid points. That's a meaningful contribution. I want the game to allow newer players to get to that level without waiting 9 years. A game just isn't fun if you're never allowed to play with the cool toys.

BUT "catch up" mechanics aren't positive for the game when they let you beat bigger spenders or long-time players in PvP.

Catch up to the content, not the other players, should be the thinking. And if you allow ALL resources (as proposed above) to transfer between players, you can easily gain Omicrons, Zetas, Zinbiddles, etc that otherwise gate important abilities. So count me a no vote for all resources. Count me a yes vote for some level of expansion to the current sharing system.

  • A few points off the top of my head.

    1. I think guild donations need to be taking around the back of the stable and introduced to 'Mr Shotgun'.  I don't see it being a vital or on the whole a productive mechanic.
    2.  I also saw the thread with the whale with 650 zeta fragments.  I had a look at account, got bored after 20 seconds of still scrolling through relic 8/9s.
    3.  Most people in a guild will be a similar level.  So, if this person has 650 zeta fragments, most likely the rest of the guilds also have a lot fragments in the store too.
    4.  The game is supposed to progress and form new gates.  There was a time where we would be short of Omegas.  Now......I have like a thousand and doubt I'll ever need to care about them again.  For players like this whale, Zetas are like my Omegas and I supposed they have 100s of Omicron fragments like I have Zetas.  The game moves on and makes new gates, those at the top of the food chain feel less of a pinch.
    5.   It's always the same people asking for stuff.  Every guild has them, they finish one request and move onto the next one.  However, we all have to farm the same stuff.  It's not like each player's journey is individual.  So the stuff they ask for, I'll probably need.  Nobody asks me for the stuff I have thousands of and can't really use.  Even a lot of the blue gear can be used for Bronzium wiring or Carbonite circuit boards and you never have enough of those.
    6. Gear bottlenecks/gates are there for a reason.  All games like these have them.  Eventually, with power-creep new gates/bottlenecks form.  They're there to entice players to spend, or to use up crystals so you buy more crystals.  Negating this with a better gifting system wouldn't be in CG's best financial interests.
    7.  If you think about it, I'd love to gift shards.  I'm getting Reva, SM33, Leviathan, Executor etc. etc. shards all the time.  I'm sure there are players that would kill (ewoks not people of course) to have the shards I'm basically throwing away given to them.  I do dislike waste.  But again, it's not in CG's best interest to do that.

    TLDR:

Most people in a guild are of a similar level.  If gifting actually got useful it'd affect CG's wallet.  Bottlenecks are there for a reason.  The same people always request stuff that you need yourself.
